Responsibilities
In this role, you will work alongside seasoned attorneys handling plaintiff malpractice cases and attending the trial.
- Oversee all aspects of case management, including strategy development, negotiations, and trial preparation.
- Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, and handle complex motion practice.
- Collaborate with managing partners on developing and implementing firm-wide strategies, goals and initiatives.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPI’s), utilizing data to drive decision-making and improve performance.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork, professional development, and a strong work ethic.
- Interview clients to learn about the malpractice experience
- Investigate the operations of medical professionals to determine whether malpractice has occurred
- Conducting research on the conditions clients experience so they can speak about them in court
- Drafting motions to use in courtroom proceedings
- Collecting medical records to analyze evidence
- Recording depositions from medical professionals and other employees at a medical facility where malpractice has occurred
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school and active Florida Bar license.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience practicing personal injury law with a focus on the plaintiff side as an attorney or as a law student.
- In-depth understanding of key performance indicators and reporting metrics within a legal setting.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, both written and verbal.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and foster a positive work environment.
- Passion for helping others and a goal of first chair trial experience.
